About Me
As a therapist, my top priority is creating a warm and non-judgmental space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
We all have times when life feels overwhelming and we feel stuck. I offer support and guidance during these challenging periods, helping you find clarity and navigate through them, uncovering your inner strength so that you can embrace positive changes.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and it may be something you’ve been considering for some time. The client-therapist relationship is the most important factor in the therapeutic process, so it’s really important to me that you feel comfortable working with me and my goal is to offer you a safe, supportive, and encouraging place where you can work through your feelings and concerns.
Before training to become a therapist, I worked in the corporate sector for over 20 years, leading and managing teams to deliver complex change.
As I reached mid-life, trying to balance a demanding career and a young family started to weigh on me. I often found myself stressed and struggling with insomnia. This is what led me to discover the amazing benefits of hypnotherapy and mindfulness.
The more I learned about these practices, the more I wanted to help others overcome their own life challenges. I was at a point in my career where I craved a new challenge. I wanted to do something that truly resonated with my core values and where I could make a real difference in people's lives.
I took the leap and trained and qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. I now balance my therapy practice with work at a healthcare analytics consultancy.
My combination of real-word practical, lived experience combined with therapeutic experience and passion for continual learning and development, enable me to deeply understand the challenges my clients face and offer them the support they need.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy to help you navigate midlife, perimenopause and beyond
My approach
You are unique and so my approach is tailored to your specific needs and goals.
I blend elements of Cognitive Behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy to help attend to what is going on with your thoughts, feelings, and body, and how this impacts your life.
My approach is forward-looking and solution-focused, though we may spend time looking backwards if this is helpful in informing the way forward.
As well as helping you to deal with whatever you are struggling now, I am passionate about helping clients develop skills and a mindset that will continue to help them long after our time working together has ended.
Whilst midlife can bring challenges, it can also be an invitation to deal with difficulties that we’ve been ignoring and offer new opportunities for us to connect with what is truly important to us.
Working with clients is an absolute joy and privilege for me, and seeing the significant changes that clients can achieve, sometimes in only a few sessions, still amazes me.
I offer face-to-face and online appointments, with my Warrington-based clinic being centrally located with excellent transport links.
I offer a FREE, no obligation, 15-minute introductory call so if you’re wondering whether I might be able to help you, please just click on the button below to send me a message and I’ll be in touch to arrange a call.
I’m in my late 40s and in perimenopause.
I’m married and am mum to 2 teenage children, a dog and 2 cats.
I love being outdoors - gardening, walking the dog, and particularly love hiking in the Lake District and in the highlands of Scotland.
I’ve practised yoga for over 30 years. I love it, but I still struggle to do arm balances and headstands!
I’ve been vegetarian for over 30 years, long before there was anything other than pasta in tomato sauce on the restaurant menus for veggies!
I love learning and self-development, while also reminding myself that I’m good enough just as I am.
Meditation, mindfulness, breathwork and self-hypnosis form part of my daily wellbeing practices.
I’m Vice Chair of Governors for a local school and am constantly inspired by the passion of so many education professionals to do the best for their students, often under very trying conditions.
